Abhijeet Sawant to participate in Asian Idol

After the successful versions of 'Pop Idol' format of reality singing competition show in each Asian country, the winners of six Asian countries will now chess for the 'Asian Idol' title. And our own first 'Indian Idol' winner Abhijeet Sawant is going to participate in the show.

The other Asian countries which are participating in the contest are Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. Judges for the show will be the one judge from each countries show. From India, Anu Malik is going to be as a judge.

The show will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television on December 14 and December 15 from 7.00 pm onwards. Meanwhile voting lines for the contestants will be open on 15 December after the show is over. To vote for the show, viewers should have to vote for two of their favorite contestants. Results of the show will be declared on December 16 on 11.00 pm live from Jakarta. Our own pop star Alisha Chinai is also supposed to perform on the resulting day of the contest.

However, Abhijeet Sawant feels very proud about it. He says, "It is a matter of great pride that I have got an opportunity to represent my country on the international platform. I am looking forward to this contest, as it will be a challenge to prove my mettle internationally. I am sure this will be a complete learning experience."
