Abhijeet Sawant on a high note

He became the first Indian Idol of India in 2005, when the reality show concept was on boom. Now in 2008, when the concept is old and there are dozen of reality shows on every channel Abhijeet Sawant is still favorite with Star TV's reality show 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar'. Abhijeet Sawant is all again gaining the praises from the jury of show and his fans are voting him again to move him forward every week.

When he was asked about why he is again wants to prove to the audience with the show 'Jo Jeeta....' and isn't he afraid to put his title on risk? Abhijeet replied, "I participated in this show to prove I can sing. A lot of people weren't happy when I became Idol. Amit and Rahul were hot favorites. People only liked my smile. Today they do realize I have it in me."

"My family, friends and fans were scared; they thought I was risking it by pitting myself against the others. But if I don't take risks now, then I will probably never," Abhijeet added later.

His first album 'Aapka Abhijeet Sawant' was a hit featuring beautiful songs like 'Mohabbatein Lutaaunga', 'Lafzon Mein Keh Na Saku' and 'Jaana Jingadi Se Na Jana'. 70,000 copies of the album were sold on the first day of its launch. His voice was widely appreciated in film Aashiq Banaya Aapne with the song 'Mar Jawa Mit Jawa'. He recently released his second album 'Junoon', featuring again some wonderful songs and was received well.

Now the singer is set to make his acing debut with a romantic thriller 'Lottery'. Abhijeet also has become producer, as he is producing one Marathi film. Now don't get surprised if you see him anchoring a television show in future, as the talks of anchoring a TV show are going on. But nothing yet finalized.
